Holiday in the Netherlands 2008

Also this year we went on holiday to the Netherlands for 2 weeks. This time with Towa. May the 12th we left Kansai Airport to arrive about 12 hours later at Schiphol Amsterdam. The flight went surprisingly good with Towa. Now and the he had to cry a little, but other than that he was sleeping very well. From the cabin attendant we even got some cool Nijntje (Miffy) bib for Towa.

Again we stayed at my parents house so that they could touch Towa all the time during the 2 weeks. The first week was mainly visiting family and shopping in downtown Groningen. Mami also tried "Hollandse Nieuwe" (herring), she didn't like it all. It tasted like bad fish. :-)

Already last year I wanted to go to a forest, so this year we finally went to some small forest between Roden en Norg. Mami enjoyed it a lot. It's really different from the Japanese nature.

The first weekend we went by train to Amsterdam and Amstelveen to visit some friends. We did some shopping and after that we went by tram to their house for dinner. It was fun. Mami sees Amsterdam as the Nanba of the Netherlands, so she prefers Groningen. Amsterdam looks kinda messy.

The 2nd week other friends visited us in Groningen. They have never seen Groningen before and were quite surprised. They really liked the city-centre of Groningen.

The day before our flicht back to Japan, the rest of the family visited us to say goodbye and touch Towa for the last time till ... next year ...?

The flight back also went very smoothly. During that flight I had a nice chat with a cabin attendant and that's why she gave Towa a stack of the same Nijntje bibs (of course with some hiding ;-) ).

Anyway, back to normal life (and hopefully some more posts)...
