Django People

For Rails there is WorkingWithRails. But for Django there was no such thing… until yesterday: Django People has been released. I was among the first people who signed up and managed to register using “jeffrey” as screenname, yaay!! Over 750 people signed up within 24 hours. That’s a huge amount for such a short period of time. Today the co-creater of Django even implemented OpenID for Django People. It couldn’t be better.

Anyway, a few minutes after I signed up, people in the #django irc-chat suddenly started talking to me and reading my blog :P. They asked about the baby and Japan. This sounds kinda stupid, but showing interest in each other in a community like this is very good for people’s morale ;-). Way better than the average response in the Rails channel.

My short experience with the Django community till now is great. I’ll certainly do more in the future using this framework.
