Slicehost Speed and Google Webmaster Tools

Since I started using a slice at Slicehost I got a few comments about the speed increase. It improved dramatically.

A while ago I found the Webmaster Tools at google. Now it also provides some graphs with statistics about a website.

This graph shows the amount of time Googlebot needs to fetch a page from my website. Now I’m using Slicehost, the response time is very constant at about 300ms per page, a giant improved over the 2200ms average at Dreamhost. Dreamhost also seems to have some weird spikes, their networking is really bad.

Anyway, if you have a website I recommend looking at this Webmaster Tools. It’s really useful if you want to learn more about your own site ;)
