New server

Lately I got kinda tired of shared hosting. I thought Dreamhost was cool, but it is really slow and there is a lot of downtime. Besides with shared hosting you don’t have any freedom to experiment. So I’ve decided to go for a VPS. Slicehost is really popular lately, so I signed up there. It took me just a few hours to install Ubuntu Feisty, Litespeed, Postfix, Dovecot, Spamassassin, Mercurial (scm) and PostgreSQL. They mailserver was kinda difficult to setup, especially because I wanted secure connections and I didn’t setup a mailserver before. I finished yesterday morning getting things to work. So from now it doesn’t require that much maintenance and I can do any experiment I want :) Gone with shared hosting!

I’m still busy copying all files from Dreamhost to Slicehost, so some things might not work (yet).
Ow and if you also want a Slice, use this link to sign-up. I’ll get some nice referral fee :)
