I'm still here

Life is quite different without internet. Normally I check daily all my RSS feeds and talk with friends on messenger/Skype. But I can’t do that at the moment. It makes me feel a lil lonely sometimes, I didn’t know I like talking with friends and family that much :P Usually I’m up-to-date concerning the latest software and technology, but now people at my job even start to talk about new stuff I didn’t even read about before.

Yeah.. it’s just two weeks now, but I can really notice now that internet became an essential part of my life. That sounds pretty stupid, but it is true.

We are almost finished with our new house. Not everything is unpacked yet (we are lazy people), but it everything is getting along very well. Yesterday the curtains arrived and they really fit into the interior. They are custom made for our special glass blocks, so they weren’t very cheap. Ah well.. We just have to buy a few more closets for cloths, etc. and everything is 100% completed.

Mami has two new hobbies: baking bread with our new cool oven and making fluffy things from wool. I’ll show some pictures of that later. I’m just doing my old hobbies, gaming and programming :-p – boring isn’t it.
Our television only supports NTSC and PAL60. Two of my Dutch game can switch to PAL60 mode, so these are working. However the main menu of my PS2 is still PAL. Final Fantasy is also PAL only. I am searching for some kind of converter, the analog converters can convert from PAL to NTSC, but they can’t change the frequency. Digital ones are very expensive. Another possibility would be a mod-chip, but I have no idea where I can find these in Japan. Another problem is that I can’t play NTSC games on my PAL PS2. Pretty annoying. I won’t buy a Japanese PS2 yet, because the PS3 will be released next month. But this won’t solve my problem, it probably doesn’t support my PAL games either. So it’s or I rebuy the games or I buy a mod-chip or hey – I can buy a new tv too of course. :’(

I think Tsubura – the dog – is not used to his new appartment. He seems to be sad now and then doesn’t want to play as often as before. Let’s hope this will change soon.

I’ll make a new video when the new internet connection is there. K-Opticom visited our house last weekend to check how to connect the optic-fiber in our living room. Now we are waiting for permission of the landlord of our apartment to connect the cable directly to our living room.

Greetings from Jeffrey..

Zef Wow I like the two pictures of your house, looks very Japanese!

Gerry Ziet er gezellig uit. Nog even dan heb je weer intenet en kunnen we weer lekker praten enz. Het is voor ons ook stil en wij missen het ook.

Georges fiberglass optic right to the living room, those two weeks of waiting should be worthwhile ;)

Andrew Looks fantastic! The video was really cool too!

I've been at my new house 6 months, and still have a lot of stuff in boxes, so I don't think it's just you being lazy ;-)

How you are coping without the internet, AND without your PlayStation I will never know!

Jeffrey It is difficult, I go to bed early now instead. Lucky I'll get internet next week!
