Moving

Just one more week till we can move to our new mansion (as they call it in Japanese). I never had moved to a place which is really my “own” and where I am paying for. Actually the dormitory was the first time I started living on my own, however there I shared the shower and bathroom with my neighbor and the kitchen was shared among the whole floor. I don’t want to call that my own place to live.

At the moment my girlfriend and I are buying all basic things to survive the first few weeks as we will throw away all the old stuff of my girlfriend. We already bought a dining table and chairs, a fridge, washing machine, bed and so on.

The whole situation is really exciting. This weekend we will pack everything in the boxes we received today. It is pretty expensive to get rid of the old things. For every “big” thing you have to pay like 3000円 (~€20). Talking about money. Another annoying thing in Japan is that you have to pay key-money and deposit almost everywhere – and this is far from cheap. Ah well…
Another annoying thing in Japan is, that you need a guarantor in order to rent a house. This could be for example the company you work at or a family member. Usually it’s a family member. What if they live 10000 km from here? Well, then you are screwed I think. Lucky my girlfriend also has family :P

Ah yeah, we probably won’t have internet for about one month or if we have bad luck even more than one month. We’ll get optic fiber. Really cool ;-)

A last cosmetic announcement: I am creating a new design for this site, as I will change my blog engine to Mephisto whenever I find time to finish it.

You bastards, optic fiber, that’s something you can only dream of in France :P It all sounds really awsome though :) good luck moving! I’d like to help you move but hey ;)

Sounds great, I remember how happy I was when I got my first place with my girlfriend, really fantastic :)

We went a week where we had to use dial-up instead of broadband, I don’t know how you could survive with no internet at all for a whole month!

I’m sure you’ll be very happy in your mansion, the photos from the other entry looked great :)

I’m not sure if dial-up still exists here :P But I still have internet at my job of course, so I can do some personal things during lunch time.
I’ll take some more photos of my mansion later, probably also a short video for friends and family.
