New design & Expo Park & iPod

Welcome to my new site :). I switched my blogging software to Wordpress and installed some fancy plugins. I hope you like it. The new URL for my RSS feed is http://feeds.feedburner.com/JeffreyGelens. Please update it. If something does not work yet, please contact me. I copied all my articles I posted in Japan, I’ll copy the articles before that time later.

Last Friday I decided to buy an iPod Video 30GB. I’m glad I bought it, now I can listen to my music any time I want. Watch music clips, check my agenda, search for contacts, etc. Even the notes are handy. The only stupid thing is that the calendar, notes and contacts can’t be modified directly, I have to use my iBook for that. I also bought a camera connector so that I can transfer the contents from my camera memory stick to the iPod in case it’s full. Really handy.

Expo Yosakoi MatsuriSaturday Stephen, Andras and I wanted to visit the robot exhibition in the Expo Park here in Suita. We soon found out that there was a festival at the Expo, so we looked around there first. At the first stage a Japanese woman suddenly asked us to dance on the stage. The one on the picture above. The dance was too difficult so we didn’t do it, a lot of people were watching ;).
Expo Yosakoi MatsuriBut we got some nice uniforms now :D I made a composition (you need Quicktime 7>) of some of the dances. Not the highest quality, but it gives you an impression. After walking around for a while we visited the robot exhibition, which was fairly small. In the first hall they showed a few of the first robots ever made, pretty interesting. One of them looked like it came straight from the Matrix. Anyway, the exhibition was interesting but very small.

Ah, yeah, I almost forgot. When I was in Umeda last Friday a Japanese guy asked me if I could play as an extra in German/Japanese movie named バルトのがくえん, Baruto no gakuen. I have to play german soldier in the 1st World War. Sounds cool and I even get money and free lunch for it. More details later :)

Mami also gave me a really nice cushion, perfect for my bad chair which is really hard. The cushion is really soft. If you touch it, you can’t stop touching it :P. Thanks Mami!

Anyway, I have to do a presentation in Japanese Tuesday, so I have to prepare now. またね
